PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microwave low-pass filter which is smaller in size and nonetheless has larger attenuation factor compared to a conventional microwave low-pass filter, and is easily manufactured. SOLUTION: The attenuation constant of a high frequency transmission line composed of conductor lines and a dielectric body arranged between the conductor lines, is expressed as an increasing function of conductance between the conductor lines. The conductance between the conductor lines is proportional to the tanδand frequency of the dielectric body arranged between the conductor lines. When tanδis increased, the attenuation constant is increased and is proportional to the frequency, so that the transmission line is used as the low-pass filter. The generation of Joule heat is low and the transmission line is therefore optimum as the signal transmission line of a quantum device in an ultracold temperature environment.
