PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a panel for image display, with which a residual film between partition walls is simply removed and deterioration in display characteristics is prevented. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the panel for image display, with which cells separated from one another with the partition walls are formed between two substrates placed opposite to each other, of which at least one is transparent, an image display medium is sealed in the cells, and an electric field is applied to the image display medium so as to transfer the image display medium and display an image, the partition walls 15 are formed on the substrate 14, and the residual film 13a remaining on the substrate 14 and between the partition walls 15 is removed by subjecting the substrate 14 with the partition walls formed thereon to dry etching.
