PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer apparatus which can be quickly operated by separately arranging a finger opening/closing bar to reduce the mass of a transfer bar, when a workpiece is carried for a machining process one by one. SOLUTION: The finger opening/closing type transfer apparatus is composed of a pair of transfer bars 24A, 24B arranged so as to reciprocate in the carrying direction of the workpiece; a plurality of pairs of fingers 28A, 28B which are mounted so as to face each other, and have projecting portions, and are opened and closed in the gripping direction of the workpiece by being energized by elastic members; a pair of finger opening/closing bars 26A, 26B which are arranged outside the transfer bars 24A, 24B parallel to them, and have grooves formed along the carrying direction of the workpiece so as to receive the projecting portions therein, and can translate by swinging so as to keep the parallel state by being connected to the other end side of a parallel link 17 so as to swing about one end side; a transfer driving section 18 for reciprocating the transfer bars; and a finger opening/closing driving section 19 for translating the finger opening/closing bars via the parallel link.
