PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microbe eliminating apparatus which is suitable to be made small in size and low in cost. SOLUTION: A UV filament lamp 6 is preheated by a control part 7 even upon no water passage. Thereby, the UV filament lamp 6 can be turned on immediately upon water passage. Accordingly, it is possible to leave the lamp 6 to be turned off upon no water passage. Then, the lamp 6 is hardly overheated upon no water passage. Further, the power consumption can be reduced and the lamp life can be prolonged. When the lamp 6 is overheated, there is the danger that the lamp 6 breaks when unheated water flows in. Therefore, a particular structure and lamp for preventing the breaking is required. Since the overheating of the lamp can be avoided according to the equipment for microbial removal, a particular structure and material for avoiding the breaking the lamp 6 due to unheated water can be made unnecessary and , as a result, the equipment for microbial removal can be simplified.
