PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an observer to clearly recognize different types of deposition. SOLUTION: This is a method for visualizing deposition in a blood vessel 21 to carry out after-processing of the image data of a 2D slice image for locally determining a brightness value in the 2D slice image and/or a start value to be the base of brightness value, in which method, measurement data for a series of 2D slice images of the blood vessel 21 are recorded by an image forming tomographic device and a 2D slice image is reconstructed from the measurement data and displayed. By positioning marking elements to define marking areas interactively movable in the 2D slice image and presettable under displaying the 2D slice image marking areas, one or a plurality of the image areas (23, 24) are marked. Upon after-processing one or a plurality of the image areas, pixels are automatically color-coded and displayed based on a presettable transmission function to allocate different color values to value areas wherein a different start value being the base of a brightness value and/or a start value to be the base of brightness value are different.
