PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the quality of intermediate images while the time lag for displaying main images is reduced. SOLUTION: After the volume of a subject (4) is detected by the measurement scanning (12) serially conducted one after another, and a series of main images (13) are produced based on the measured data every time the measurement scanning (12) is made, a series of main images (13) are obtained by reconstructing each of those main images (13). These main images are displayed in time sequence, and then intermediate images (14) that have been computed in order to raise a picture string frequency are interposed between the main images (13) in display. In this image generation method by using the tomographic image creation modality, as is shown above, the intermediate images (14) can be directly reconstructed at predetermined points of time during the measurement scanning, by combining with insufficient measurement data that are still not enough to complete the combination between the measured data detected before and those after each point of time.
