Warm-up operation is performed to raise the temperature in a heating chamber to a target warm-up temperature (first predetermined temperature) by means of a first steam heater (52) in a steam temperature raising unit. After this, cooking heating operation is performed to supply steam, obtained by heating water in a steam generator by the heater sections (42A, 42B) of the steam generator, to the heating chamber after raising its temperature by the first steam heater (52) in a steam temperature raising unit. When the temperature in the heating chamber detected by a compartment temperature sensor (81) during the warm-up operation exceeds a steam generation starting temperature (second predetermined temperature) lower than the target warm-up temperature, a controller (80) makes a decision that steam generation starting conditions are satisfied, and water in the steam generator is heated by the heater sections (42A, 42B) of the steam generator.
