PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately manage a use status of the consumables of a printing apparatus and to improve the recovery of consumables.

SOLUTION: The consumables management apparatus is equipped with: a management information DB 112 in which status information received from a printer 102 through a network 105 is stored and held in a updatable fashion for each toner cartridge 107; a status information reading part 113 reading the status information stored in the storing element of the toner cartridge 107 when the toner cartridge 107 is recovered; and a consumables management part 111 judging the recovery state of the toner cartridge 107 by comparing the status information read by the status information reading part 113 with the status information stored and held in the management information DB 112.
