<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism by which a user can recognize whether print processing can be executed as a form intended by the user or not before performing printout from application. <P>SOLUTION: When a user appoints performing staple binding, an application 200 of this system inquires a printer driver 202 about the maximum staple possible number of sheets, and compares the number of sheets of manuscript staple binding which is performed actually with the maximum staple possible number. When the job which the user intends to issue is impossible to perform staple binding, the application informs the user that staple binding is impossible in the present setting and the candidates of setting by which staple binding can be done certainly.
