PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a electric light display system capable of effectively transferring data from a display data editing device to a display device, and significantly reducing a communication time necessary for transferring the data. SOLUTION: When a part of data in program data composing display data is changed, only the program data which is changed is transferred from the display data editing device to the display device. When the display data is transferred from the display data editing device to the display device, the display data recorded in the display device side is compared with the display data to be transferred and when the comparison result is different, it is determined whether editing operation to the display data exists or the display data is broken. Moreover, according to the result, it is set beforehand whether the display data is to be updated, or occurrence of abnormality in the display data is to be informed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
