PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the total combustion amount of both first and second burners to be a specified combustion amount or less and to prevent inconvenience from being given to a user, in a compound heat source machine that has a first combustion section 2-1 for hot water supply and a second combustion section 2-2 for application other than the hot water supply (for example, heating) and where the sum of the maximum combustion amount of the first combustion section and the maximum combustion amount of the second combustion section exceeds a predetermined specified combustion amount (for example, 60000 kcal/h) desired as the upper limit in the case of use at home. SOLUTION: In a simultaneous operation of the first combustion section 2-1 and the second combustion section 2-2, the combustion amount of the first combustion section 2-1 is controlled to match with a required combustion amount, the combustion amount of the second combustion section 2-2 is limited so that the total combustion amount of both combustion sections 2-1 and 2-2 does not exceed the specified combustion amount.
