PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telescopic shaft, in which generation of rattling is prevented, and in which assemblage is easy. SOLUTION: This telescopic device comprises an inner shaft part 6 having a circular cross section and an outer shaft part 1 in a cylindrical form fitted with each other along prescribed length, where irregularities 5 and 3 arranged in fitting surfaces of both shaft parts 6 and 1, and extended in the shaft length direction are engaged with each other. A diameter shrunk part 8 is provided in a part of the inner shaft part 6 to part the irregularities 5 in the inner shaft part 6 in the shaft direction. Rotation is transmitted from one of the shaft parts 6 and 1 to the other. By sliding of the irregularities 5 and 3 along an engagement part, both shaft parts 6 and 1 are extendable in the shaft length direction. On the diameter shrunk part 8, a rattling preventing member 14 comprising elastic material is provided. The rattling preventing member 14 comprises two leg parts 10 and 11 wound around the diameter shrunk part 8, and two connection parts 12 and 13 disposed at two positions apart from each other by 90deg. in the circumferential direction of the diameter shrunk part 8 to be bent perpendicularly to the leg parts 10 and 11 for connecting the leg parts 10 and 11 to each other.
