PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve workability in work in the vicinity of a regulation line in an allowable work range when compared with a conventional device. SOLUTION: This safety device for the bending and stretching boom type vehicle for high lift work is provided with a position detection means 71 for detecting a position of a tip part of an upper boom 32 and a regulation means 72 for regulating operation of a lower boom 31 and the upper boom 32 that the position of the tip part of the upper boom 32 detected by the position detection means 71 exceeds a scope R of allowable work. When determining that the position of the tip part of the upper boom 32 detected by the position detection means 71 reaches the regulation line S3 for determining limit of the scope R of allowable work while a boom operation control part 61 of a controller 60 performs bending and stretching operation of the upper boom 32 in accordance with operation of an operation device 41, the regulation means 72 moves the tip part of the upper boom 32 within the allowable work range R without stopping bending and stretching operation of the upper boom 32 by performing falling-down operation of the lower boom 31 in the interlocking relationship with bending and stretching operation of the upper boom 32.
