PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet material feeding device capable of preventing occurrence of jamming for a special sheet material (a perforated sheet, an envelope with a tab, etc.) and improving stable sheet material feeding performance without impairing basic performance of a conventional sheet material feeding device. SOLUTION: A lever part on a paper conveyance reference side of a return lever equivalent to a double feeding prevention mechanism provided in the sheet material feeding device is provided to overlap it on a conveyance reference face and set width of a lever to 10 mm or more to enable paper return. At the same time, the lever part at the center is provided to reduce height of a lever tip more than lever parts at both ends and make an angle of the lever tip larger than that of the lever parts at both ends to turn. A special paper having a punched hole (usually, about 9 mm) and an envelope can be fed without being caught in the return lever when performing loading paper return operation for preventing double feeding by this configuration.
