PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging device which dispenses with complicated operation, and can select a suitable conveying speed of a conveying section depending on different commodity products. SOLUTION: According to the operation of the packaging device, a commodity code key and a numeral key of an operating section are depressed to select a commodity (S1). Next, commodity name data and keyword data of the selected commodity are compared and decision is made (S2). Then, the conveying speed of an in-feed conveyor is controlled based on a result of the comparison and determination. Further, when weighing of the commodity in a commodity mounting section is stabilized (S4), the in-feed conveyor is started (S5), and finally, packaging of the commodity is carried out in the packaging device.
