PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that a conventional temperature detector can detect abnormal overheat of a cooker by a thermister but cannot detect the presence/absence of the cooker on a stove. SOLUTION: In a temperature detector for a cooker, the outer periphery of the vertical part of a supporting pipe 3 is provided with a cylinder 17 so as to be vertically moved, the upper part of the cylinder 17 is fixed with a cap body 4 attached with a thermister 5 and abutting on the bottom surface of the cooker 2, the cylinder 17 is urged by a coil spring 32 so as to be always moved upward, a thermister lead wire 30 connected to the thermister 5 is inserted into the supporting pipe 3 so as to be freely moved, and the supporting pipe 3 is provided with a detector L for detecting the movement of the thermister lead wire 30 following the vertical movement of the cap body 4.
