PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nail for a game which does not decrease the visibility of an ornament, a design, a display image or the like on a game board while a head section to facilitate the inter-nail adjustment which influences the zest of pinball game is retained, and a game machine using the nail for the game. SOLUTION: The nail for the game is comprised of a shaft section to be driven in the game board and the head section disposed at an end of the shaft section, wherein a ratio of an outer diameter of the head section to an outer diameter of the shaft section C1 (the outer diameter of the head section/the outer diameter of the shaft section) is set in a range of 1<C1≤2.0, and a ratio of the outer diameter of the head section to the height of the head section C2 (the outer diameter of the head section/the height of the head section) is set in a range of 1.5<C2≤2.5.
