PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strainer for preventing a garbage captured at the inside from being dropped off on a strainer storage member at stopping of water and capable of reducing pressure loss. SOLUTION: In the mounting structure for the strainer and the strainer 1 used for the same, the strainer 1 is stored in the strainer storage member 7 such that a strainer flowing-in port 6 becomes at a lower position than a strainer lid 10. The strainer 1 is provided with a garbage capturing member 3 mounted to a peripheral edge near the strainer flowing-in port 6; and a rib 2 mounted to a flowing-in side against a mounting end 4 of the garbage capturing member 3. The garbage capturing member 3 is provided with a hole part 24 abutted on the rib 2 at stopping of water and capable of passing water while capturing the garbage.
