PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope which efficiently and reliably cools a heat generation part arranged inside a drum part and raises a degree of freedom in the layout of a member arranged inside the drum part, whose size is made small, and in which noise is reduced. SOLUTION: The freely turnable drum part 3 for winding and extending an endoscope insertion part 21 on an outer peripheral surface 3a is arranged inside a box 81 in the endoscope 1. A through-hole 3jh is formed at the turning center 3s of an outer wall part in the drum part 3. A member 4 for freely turnably and pivotally supporting the drum part 3 is arranged via a hollow turning shaft 31 whose one end is fixed to an outer wall part to cover the outer periphery of the through-hole 3jh. The heat generation part 32 is arranged in the inner part 3i of the drum part 3. A heat pipe 100 whose one end is connected to the heat generation part 32 and the other end is connected to the member 4 for freely turnably and pivotally supporting the drum part 3, is disposed in the inner part 3i of the drum part 3 and the hollow part of the turning shaft 31.
