This invention relates to novel proteins, termed INSPOO5a and INSPOO5b, herein identified as secreted proteins, in particular members of the metalloprotease family and to the use of these proteins and nucleic acid sequences from the encoding genes in the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of disease.
