Compressor suction reed valve

A suction reed valve (60) includes a central ring shaped body (82) having a pair of tabs (66,68) extending radially outward. One of the pair of tabs (66) is fixed to a valve plate (12) and the other tab (68) is free to move. A necked down region (94) is located between the fixed tab (66) and the central ring shaped body (82) to facilitate the bending/deflection of the suction reed valve.
