<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital television broadcast signal receiver whereby a user itself can simply, accurately, and manually (not automatically) adjust a direction of a multidirectional antenna (smart antenna) so as to omit a wasteful direction adjustment time and quickly obtain an optimum receiving state at all times when image quality is deteriorated or a disturbing wave is received during reception by the smart antenna whose direction has already been adjusted, the smart antenna being connected to the digital television broadcast signal receiver. <P>SOLUTION: The digital television broadcast signal receiver stores a received signal strength level of each channel, an optimum receiving direction and an optimum received signal strength level by automatic scanning and full area scanning in advance, normalizes received signal strengths in each direction on the basis of the optimum received signal strength level, displays the results in terms of the amplitude, superimposingly displays an antenna direction level pattern 62 indicated by a bar graph 65 of the received signal strengths in each receiving direction 64 of the antenna and uniformly provided on a circumference on a TV display apparatus, can display the video image of the received channel in a form of a mini image 68 at the same time, and allows a determination cursor 66 to determine the selection of the received direction 64 of the antenna. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
