<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new lighting system with little power consumption and a long service life, capable of enlarging a lighting area and generating a soft light like a conventional lighting system by combining an ultraviolet light emitting diode and a fluorescent material. <P>SOLUTION: This lighting system is provided with a tube 1 wherein a fluorescent material 2 is applied on an inner surface. A support stand 5 is disposed in the tube.
