<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce irregularities in an image that may occur while a virtual image is generated, when generating an image (hereinafter referred to as the virtual image) at a virtual visual point as a virtual visual point, between respective images acquired by photographing a subject from mutually different visual points by at least two or more cameras. <P>SOLUTION: In an image acquired by at least two cameras 11a, 12a, each correspondence result of each pixel is obtained by two matching means 28, 29 for obtaining corresponding relation of each mutually different pixel, the presence of irregularities in the image is verified from the comparison of each correspondence by an information generation part 33, and an appropriate composite image is generated by a virtual visual point image generation part 30 based on the verification result, so that the irregularities in a virtual visual point image are reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
