<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator device enabling a person of advanced age and a physically-disabled person to use easily. <P>SOLUTION: In this elevator device provided with a photoelectric device 5 for detecting a passenger getting on and off a car and a sound guide means for giving instruction to a passenger by sound, instruction for the passenger by the sound guide means is not given when passenger detection time by the photoelectric device 5 is shorter than predetermined time, and instruction for the passenger by the sound guide means is given when passenger detection time is longer than the predetermined time.
