PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoelectric converter exhibiting high durability and reliability with simple structure in which thermoelectric elements can be arranged planarly. SOLUTION: The thermoelectric conversion unit 1 comprises a plurality of P type thermoelectric elements 2 arranged in a first array 2a, a plurality of N type thermoelectric elements 3 arranged in a second array 3a parallel with the first array 2a, a plurality of independent upper electrodes 7 for connecting the upper side of corresponding thermoelectric elements and a plurality of independent lower electrodes 8 for connecting the lower side of corresponding thermoelectric elements by crossing or straddling between the first and second arrays 2a and 3a in order to connect the P type and N type thermoelectric elements 2 and 3 alternately and electrically, and clips 20 and 21 for connecting the electrodes 7 and 8 by clipping the opposite ends thereof vertically. Since individual thermoelectric elements can be clipped and secured by independent electrodes 7 and 8, a thermoelectric conversion unit 1 exhibiting high durability and reliability and insusceptible to thermal deformation of other thermoelectric element can be provided.
