PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dustproof structure for electronic equipment that can be applied appropriately to the liquid crystal display device of a portable telephone set, can increase the size of a display section without increasing the size of electronic equipment, and can be reduced in the number of assembling processes. SOLUTION: In the dustproof structure for electronic equipment, an LCD 3 coated with an elastic resin 5 is mounted in a front case 9 so that the displaying surface of the LCD 3 may face an opening having a screen 10 and the clearance between the screen 10, and displaying surface of the LCD 3 is hermetically sealed with the resin 5. Especially, the hermetically sealing performance is improved by applying the resin 5 to the glass plate 7 of the LCD 3 and the stepped section of a deflecting plate 6. Therefore, the number of assembling processes of the dustproof structure can be reduced as compared with the case where an independent hermetically sealing cushion is used. In addition, the size of a non-display area can be farther reduced than the conventional case by applying the dustproof structure to the displaying section of the LCD 3 etc. Therefore, the size of the electronic equipment can be reduced as compared with the conventional case, because the external form of the LCD 3 etc., can be farther reduced than the conventional case even when the size of the displaying section is increased.
