DRIVING METHOD OF PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an address period of drive shorter by shortening each address pulse width. SOLUTION: In a plasma display panel, each cell has parallel first and second electrodes (X) and (Y) covered with a dielectric and a third electrode (A) provided in a direction crossing the first and second electrodes. When a display object cell is addressed, an operation of forming wall charges of the same polarity in dielectric layers on the first and second electrodes is performed before an operation of bringing about discharge for address between the second and third electrodes, to bring about discharge for address only between the second and third electrodes.
