PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that operability is not good because troublesome operation is accompanied for setting them when a preset function and a function of enabling zooming at normal speed and at predetermined variable speed are simultaneously mounted on an imaging apparatus. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus has a selection means for selecting output from a 1st speed setting means or output from a 2nd speed setting means as the moving speed of a moving lens, and the 1st speed selection means functions as a means for setting the speed and also performing operation for a driving direction instruction as its operation is performed and also as an instruction means which does not output a driving instruction when the operation is not performed, and a control means sets the set speed by the 2nd speed setting means as the speed of the moving lens group at the time of performing the preset function.
