PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound insulation structure of an opening having no sound leakage and having a highly durable packing. SOLUTION: This sound insulation structure of the opening comprises an opening frame disposed around the edges of the opening, a door body rotatably installed on the suspending vertical frame of the opening frame through hinges and opening and closing the opening by the rotating operation, and the packing held between the door body at the closed position and the opening frame and closing a clearance between the door body and the opening frame by compression. The packing vertically extends at an approximately the same length as that of the suspending vertical frame, and projected at a free height t1 from the surface of the suspending vertical frame in a free state when the door body is opened. When the door body is at the closed position, the packing is held by the suspending vertical frame and the side end surface of the door body facing the vertical frame and compressed to a compressed height t2.
