The invention relates to a container for receiving and/or transporting objects, said container comprising an electronic label that can be written several times. Said label contains at least one optically detectable electronic display for displaying information. The electronic display is, for example, a display based on electronic paper or bistable liquid crystals, which displays information about the content and/or destination of a container. In addition to an optically detectable display, the container can be fitted with an RFID transponder. Preferably, the inventive container is used in a postal container system for transporting mail.
