<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a sound wave having a prescribed waveform for noise generated from a noise generation source of an image forming apparatus to efficiently reduce the noise by sound wave interference and to simplify the configuration of the apparatus by using a speaker for generating a sound wave, for another use. <P>SOLUTION: Speakers 41 and 42 which not only generate a sound wave having the same waveform as and a phase opposite to a noise wave T1, which is generated from a noise generation source 157 being in an internal shielded space 15b and is transmitted in at least one of a front shielded space 15a and a rear shielded space 15c through a front side plate 31 and a rear side plate 32, in a direction approximating the transmission direction of the noise wave T1 but also generate a maintenance guidance sound when maintaining the image forming apparatus are properly arranged in the front shielded space 15a and/or the rear shielded space 15c. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
