<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle control device which can prevent battery exhaustion when a vehicle is transported or stored over a long time, and can operate an engine without performing special work or operation. <P>SOLUTION: The on-vehicle control device carries out smart control for transmitting a transmission request signal from an on-vehicle transmitter in a predetermined range, and unlocking a vehicle door, based on a return signal transmitted from a portable machine having received the transmission request signal; security control for issuing an alarm upon detection of an unauthentic action on the vehicle by a security sensor; RKE control for locking/unlocking the door in response to a manual operating signal transmitted from the portable machine according to button operation of the portable machine; and immobilizer control for reading an ID code from a transponder in the portable machine, and permitting start of the engine when the ID code coincides with an ID code of the vehicle. According to the on-vehicle control device, when a mode changeover switch is turned off (S110: NO), the control device is set in an operating mode (S150 to S210) in which only the immobilizer control out of the various types of control is carried out. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
