<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a food and a drug which are effective for preventing and treating gout and hyperuricemia and have an ameliorating action on gout and hyperuricemia. <P>SOLUTION: An ameliorating agent for gout and hyperuricemia comprises a plant of Filipendula ulmaria, Cinnamomum zeylanicum, Lippia triphylla, Rhodiola rosea, Rhodiola sacra, Alpinia galanga, Myristica fragans, Hypericum perforatum or Vitaceae vinifera or propolis. This agent has no fear of side effects even when continuously taken, and is effective and has high safety.
