<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device and a projector which can be miniaturized,. <P>SOLUTION: The image display device is equipped with a color modulation light valve 60G modulating light from a light source 10, a luminance modulation light valve 100 modulating the light from the color modulation light valve 60G, a relay lens system 90 arranged between the color modulation light valve 60G and the luminance modulation light valve 100 and forming the optical image of the color modulation light valve 60G on the light receiving surface of the luminance modulation light valve 100, and reflection optical elements 94 and 96 arranged between a plurality of lenses constituting the relay lens system 90. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
