PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crushing and classifying apparatus permitting crushing and classification with a single apparatus, recycle of coarse particles inside the apparatus, classification of particles having been dispersed during crushing without re-coagulation, classification of particles crushed and accompanied in a rotating flow, thereby improving the classifying performance and reducing the loss of power. SOLUTION: The apparatus has a rotation shaft 12 driven externally to rotate on a perpendicular axis, a crushing machine 14 having a cylindrical rotor 14a and a cylindrical fixed liner 14b surrounding the rotor 14a and crushing a powder 1 between the rotor 14a and the liner 14b, a classifying machine 16 positioned on the side of the powder outlet of the crushing machine and classifying crushed powder into fine particles 4 and coarse particles 5, a powder supply duct 20 supplying the powder 1 to the crushing machine and a recycle device 22 recycling the coarse particles 5 classified by the classifying machine to the powder supply duct.
