The invention concerns in particular a method for protecting a server (10, 18) against DNS denial-of-service attacks, which consists in: detecting (100, 102, 104) DNS denial-of-service attacks aimed at the server; intercepting (110) the data packets addressed to the server. If an intercepted packet has a transaction number which is not in the list of transaction numbers of requests emitted by the server, the transmission of said data packet to the server is interrupted (116).
