<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a machine room-less elevator protecting a control device 5 installed in a pit 15 from submersion under water by an easily installable water-proof means with a simple structure and enhancing maintenance property. <P>SOLUTION: The elevator control device 5 installed near a hoistway pit 15 is made to an anti-submersion under water structure by covering it with a water-proof box 8, with a floating member 10 floatable on water, having an opened upper part. The water-proof box 8 is placed just below the control device 5 and is made vertically movable in a vertical direction.
