<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor wafer in which a high-efficiency solar cell can be manufactured with high yield. <P>SOLUTION: A semiconductor wafer is manufactured by a method comprising the steps of (1) detecting and specifying a low quality area 11a present on the surface of a first conductive type semiconductor wafer 11 including a grain boundary; and (2) forming a second conductive type layer 12 on the surface side of the first conductive type semiconductor wafer while keeping the low quality area 11a in the first conductive type. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
