<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water treatment method and an apparatus therefor which can solve problems of a bad influence of dissolved oxygen, scale adhesion to an electrode, or the like due to the conventional electrolysis, and remove nitrate nitrogen and nitrite nitrogen in water with high efficiency at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: In the water treatment method for performing the denitrification treatment of water by using hydrogen generated by water electrolysis and denitrifying bacteria, a biological reaction tank charged with denitrifying bacteria-immobilized carriers and a water electrolysis device using a solid polymer electrolyte membrane electrode as a source of hydrogen are used, and while electrolyzing anode water at the anode side of the water electrolysis device, water to be treated is fed to the biological reaction tank through the cathode side of the water electrolysis device. The water treatment apparatus is used for the method. It is preferable that water is fed to the cathode side of the water electrolysis device at a water-feeding speed capable of maintaining the dissolution efficiencies of hydrogen and active hydrogen, generated by the electrolysis, into the water to be treated at≥80%, and at a water-feeding speed to the cathode surface of 1.0-10.0 m/second. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
