PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor laser device capable of flat surface mounting of a semiconductor laser element and a photodetector in a block from one direction and can reduce a manufacturing cost without using a structure of a stem and a lead, and to provide an optical pickup device having the same. SOLUTION: A pad pattern is provided and a block part 102 is mounted on the upper surface of a wiring substrate 101. The block part 102 has a first placing surface 113 and a second placing surface 114 faced in the same direction and a rising mirror 111 for converting the optical axis of a light. The semiconductor laser element 103 for emitting a laser beam L is placed on the first placing surface 113.
