PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a plasma display panel capable of restraining generation of a defective shape of phosphor layer. SOLUTION: A phosphor paste 14 is applied between barrier ribs 11 formed on a back face substrate 8, and afterwards, the back face substrate 8 is exposed in an atmosphere of reduced pressure until the phosphor paste 14 is dried. By the above, even if air bubbles 28 are included in the phosphor paste 14 when the phosphor paste 14 is applied between the barrier ribs 11, the air bubbles 28 move upward and come out from the phosphor paste 14, and a phosphor paste layer 15 with a good shape and good quality can be obtained.
