PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic photoreceptor which can prevent the occurrence of dash marks liable to arise in an image forming apparatus of a cleaner-less process and the deterioration of an halftone image and can perform image formation stable for a long period, and to provide a process cartridge using the organic photoreceptor, and the image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has the organic photoreceptor, an electrifying means, a latent image forming means, a developing means, and a transferring means, and repetitively forms electrophotographic images by circulating the organic photoreceptor after the transfer of toner images to the electrifying means without subjecting the organic photoreceptor to a cleaning means coming into contact with the surface of the organic photoreceptor. In the above organic photoreceptor used for the image forming apparatus, the surface layer contains a polycarbonate having a structural unit expressed by general formula (1).
