PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a body index-measuring apparatus for small animals having a structure in which body indexes such as body weights of small animals can readily be measured. SOLUTION: The body indexes-measuring apparatus for small animals is equipped with a holding means for holding a body for small animal and a measuring means for measuring body indexes of small animal held by the holding means. The holding means is formed in a form such as a basket so as to hold the body of small animal. One or more indexes selected from body weight, a health index based on characteristic value of variation of load in a prescribed time, a body height, a height at the back, girth of the chest and biological impedance may be selected as the body indexes. In the measuring means, variation of load in a prescribed time is measured and characteristic value of the variation may be a value corresponding to an area in a region enclosed by an average value graph of load in a prescribed time and a variation graph of load.
