A signal processing device for an endoscope has a first and second video signal generation circuits for generating a first video signal and a second vide signal that have different resolution, where the first video signal and the second vide signal are generated corresponding to the case of a first imaging device and the case of a second imaging device that are mounted on the endoscope detachably connected to an endoscope connection section. The first video signal and the second vide signal can be selectively outputted to the outside from a common connector for outputting image signals.
