PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission end switching method and a set standby terminal station apparatus, whereby frame synchronization is not lost, at an apparatus connected to a post-stage of a receiving end side and unnecessary alarm is not generated in the case of executing transmission-end switching. SOLUTION: Prior to executing the transmission-end switching, switching information is transmitted to an opposite station and a PLL circuit for generating an apparatus reference clock that is a reference of an in-apparatus clock of the opposite station is brought into a hold-over state, to fix an output phase of the reference clock; and a pseudo-data signal sequence, generated relative to the in-apparatus clock and a self-running frame, is outputted as a receiver side output data signal sequence. Afterwards, the transmission end switching is executed, when the received data signal sequence of the receiving end station is made normal, the hold-over control is terminated, and the received output data signal sequence is restored to an output read data signal sequence of a memory circuit for storing an ordinary data signal sequence.
