PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead frame that can be manufactured with high productivity even when the frame has many pins and, in addition, can prevent the deformation of leads. SOLUTION: The lead frame 1 is formed by connecting and joining a tie pad forming member P manufactured from a metallic sheet and having a tie pad 2, to a lead forming member R manufactured from another metallic sheet and having many inner leads 3 extended so that their front end sections may reach the tie pad 2 and outer leads 4 respectively extended from the inner leads 3. The tie pad forming member P is formed by connecting guide rails 9 and section bars 8 to each other. The lead forming member R is formed from a metallic sheet thinner than the tie pad forming member P, and has lead connectors 7 formed successively from the many outer leads 4. The lead connectors 7 are connected and joined to at least either one of the guide rails 9 and 9 or section bars 8 and 8 in overlapping states. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
