PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of carrying out diversified color expressions while suppressing the amount of dye level data. SOLUTION: The bank 1 of an SDRAM 26 outputs pixel data forming image data and including R, G, B levels and a bank 2 outputs pixel data forming OSD data and including an R number, a G number, and a B number. dye levels R0 to R7, G0 to G7, and B0 to B7 respectively corresponding to numbers 0 to 7 are registered in a dye register 40r, and a conversion circuit 40 reads the R level, the G level, and the B level respectively corresponding to the R number, G number and B number included in the pixel data output from the bank 2 from the dye register 40r. An image composite circuit 42 sums up the R level, the G level and the B level included in the pixel data output from the bank 1 to the R level, the G level, and the B level read from the dye register 40r.
