PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an novel sliding device having extreme practicability capable of achieving smooth sliding of a sliding element, and improving durability and productivity by eliminating a retainer for rolling elements to simplify the structure. SOLUTION: The sliding element 2 is provided to be slidable to a shaft 1, and a plurality of rolling elements 3 are disposed between the shaft 1 and the sliding element 2, so that the rolling elements 3 roll between the shaft 1 and the sliding element 2 in this sliding device. On an inner circumferential surface of the sliding element 2, a load part 4 composed of the inner circumferential surface and an outer circumferential surface of the shaft 1 for the rolling elements 3 to be disposed is provided. A no-load part 6 is provided outward of the load part 4 where the rolling elements 3 are disposed. The no-load part 6 and the load part 4 are connected to each other through a return part 7 where the rolling elements 3 return. The rolling elements 3 get into a load bearing state at the position of the load part 4, and get into a a no-load state at the position of the no-load part 6. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
