PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a forward and backward moving device of a control stand capable of setting the control stand in a position enabling steering in a reasonable attitude at a moving traveling time or at a construction time. SOLUTION: In an asphalt finisher, the control stand a comprises by a lower stand frame 2, an upper stand frame 3, and four in total of front and rear link bars 7 mutually connecting the both by twos. The lower stand frame 2 is pivotally supported to be vertically movable around a rotating shaft 5 provided on a machine body side. Lower ends of the four in total of front and rear link bars 7 by twos 7 are pivotally supported on the lower stand frame 2 side, and upper ends thereof on the upper stand frame 2 to be rotatable. Further, gas springs 10 and 11 with short links are attached to the link bars so as to be capable of assisting the movement of the control stand.
